A Vankleek Hill resident accused of possession of child pornography

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Hawkesbury Detachment have charged a Vankleek Hill resident following a child pornography investigation.

Press release – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Hawkesbury Detachment have charged a Vankleek Hill resident following a child pornography investigation.

On October 20, 2022, police arrested Justin MARTEL, 38-years-old of Vankleek Hill, Ontario and charged him with the following Criminal Code offences:

·        Possession of Child Pornography, contrary to section 163.1(4).

·        Luring a Person Under 18 years of age by means of Telecommunication, contrary to section 172.1(1)(a); and,

·        Transmit Sexually Explicit Material to a Person Under 18 years of age, contrary to section 171.1(1)(a).

The accused will appear at the l’Orignal Court of Justice on November 16, 2022.

Many victims of child sexual abuse are so young that they cannot tell their story. Every time an image or video depicting that abuse is shared, that child is re-victimized.
