Press release – The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), its Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and the Sûreté du Québec executed a warrant on a residence in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge, Quebec.
On July 19, 2022, CSCU and SQ, attended a residence in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge, QC to execute a warrant. Officers seized a quantity of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine, weapons, ammunition, and cash.
Why the OPP was in Quebec territory?
Contacted a few hours after the news broke, the provincial constable Kenneth Gray, in charge of the media relations, to explain why this opération was a joint one.
« The OPP was the first to learn and then investigate on [the suspected drug traffiking in Grenville]. So when we got the warrant we decide to do a joint operation », he said.
As for the investigation, who’s still in progress, he precises that she’s now lead by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), who gave more details about the operation a few hours later.
